BILD

BILD is the British Institute of Learning Disabilities. Founded in 1971, we celebrated our 40th birthday last year.

We want people with learning disabilities to be valued equally, participate fully in their communities and be treated with dignity and respect.

Our services help develop the organisations who provide services, and the people who give support.

That way we play a part in making sure people are supported with dignity and respect and can make choices and decisions about their lives.

Who we are?

We are a national charity operating a network of support services for people with learning disabilities from five regions across England.

We aim to help the people we support to live as independently as possible and to take more control over their own lives.

Our mission is to support people with learning disabilities by maximising life choices and helping them achieve their personal goals. We aim to provide an environment that is positive and motivational.

Our efforts will help people to lead fulfilling, safe and healthy lifestyles.

We use a person-centred approach to ensure that the level of support for each individual is appropriate to their needs.

We operate a network of services that reaches out across the country, providing high quality services to hundreds of people with learning disabilities.
